COVID-19 : Not all hand sanitizers work againts it - here's what you should use

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, sales of hand sanitizers have soared. Hand sanitizers can protect against disease causing microbes, especially in situations when soap and water aren't available. Not all hand sanitizers are equally effective against corona virus.

There are 2 main types of hand sanitizers : alcohol-based and alcohol free. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers contain varying amounts and types of alcohol, often between 60 percent and 95 percent. Alcohol is known to be able to kill most germs. 

Alcohol free hand sanitizers contain usually benzalkonium chloride instead of alcohol. These can reduce microbes but are less effective than alcohol.

INTRODUCING

My name Dyani Khoirunnisa. I'm 17 years old. Now I live in Jakarta. My hobbies are swimming, watching tv, and drawing. Now I'm in 12th grade in high school 27 Jakarta.

I'm very grateful for going up to 12th grade. In this 12th grade, I will have new friends and meet new teachers. I would love to meet my friends and teacher again. Unfortunately because of the covid 19 virus, schools have to be temporarily closed so students must study at home.

Actually studying at home isn't bad, it's just that because it's too long at home, I'm getting a little bit bored. I hope this pandemic ends soon.

Since I'm already in 12th grade, of course there will be new lessons, English is no exception. This time there will be lots of fun material such as making biographies, procedure texts, and others. I really want to start the project immediately.

COVID-19: Jokowi increases daily testing target to 20,000

President Joko Widodo has increased the COVID-19 testing target to 20,000 samples per day as new cases mount in several regions of the archipelago.

Earthquakes strike west Nusa Tenggara, Aceh

A series of earthquakes have struck several areas in the country in the past week with the latest reported on thursday morning, the BMKG reported.

The quakes were recorded in west Nusa Tenggara, Ambon, Maluku, North Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Aceh, and parts of Papua and West Papua, according to the agency, while tremors could also be felt in several areas in Bali, Bengkulu, North Bengkulu, and southeast Sulawesi.

NTB recorded the strongest quake on wednesday evening at 10.54 p.m. with a magnitude of 6.0. It was the third earthquake in a week in the area.
